First Granny’s Law to be prosecuted

Jacquetta Simmons, is now the first person to be prosecuted under New York’s Granny Law. On Christmas Eve, an elderly Walmart greeter asked to see Simmons receipt as she left the store and Simmons allegedly slugged the 70 year old woman in the face. The Granny Law makes it a felony to assault and injure someone 65 or older. Simmons is expected back in court.
